The Maplewood Police Department's Detective Bureau is headed by Lt. James Wavra and staffed by well-trained and highly motivated Detectives. Members of the Detective Bureau routinely investigate a variety of crimes, ranging from check fraud to bank robbery. Detectives also provide a variety of non-criminal services to the community.

The Maplewood Police Department's Youth Aid Bureau is supervised by Sgt. James DeVaul. The Youth Aid Bureau is responsible for investigating all juvenile incidents occurring within Maplewood. In addition, Sgt. De Vaul oversees the D.A.R.E., G.R.E.A.T., and School Resource Officer Programs.
