QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPLICATION
Each person applying for a
full-time police officer position with the Maplewood Police
Department shall meet the following qualifications to be considered
eligible for appointment:
A. He/ She shall be a citizen
of the United States.
B. He/ She shall possess
formal education or training as evidenced by a Senior High School
Graduation Certificate or Equivalency Certificate.
C. He/ She shall also have one
of the following:
a. Minimum of an Associates
degree, or matriculated full time student in
an undergraduate program. Proof is incumbent upon the applicant
and must be submitted with return of the application.
b. At least two (2) years of
active U.S. military service. Proof is incumbent upon the applicant
and must be submitted with the return of the application.
D. Possess a valid New Jersey
Drivers License.
E. Completion of a
Pre-employment Background Information Packet upon
request.
F. Submission of an example of
Applicant's writing ability upon request.
G. Must be between the ages of
18-35 at time of appointment.
